In between the second and third periods of Tuesday night’s NHL game pitting the Chicago Blackhawks against the Philadelphia Flyers, EMI Nashville’s Brothers Osborne had the opportunity to participate in a center-ice challenge facilitated by the Blackhawks as the home organization.
The contest directors placed wood boards with small holes in front of each goal and gave Brothers Osborne three attempts to shoot a puck from center-ice into one of the openings. John Osborne succeeded on the first goal thus guaranteeing a $500 donation from the Chicago Blackhawks to a charity of the band’s choosing. TJ followed suit and landed the puck into the hole on the second goal therefore securing another $500 donation from the home-team.
“I was a little worried we’d walk out, totally slip and make a fool of ourselves,” said TJ. While John adds, “I think the most amazing accomplishment is that we didn’t fall over. Considering the fact I don’t think we’ve ever played hockey in our entire lives, we played pretty well”. “Not to mention we raised money for a great cause,” notes TJ.

The real-life siblings will donate the $1000 proceeds to Chicago Beyond, a privately held organization that seeks to create opportunity and access for the young people of Chicago in school, career and life. Chicago Beyond invests in innovative ideas and scalable programs to amplify impact in youth safety and educational attainment. More information can be found at: www.chicagobeyond.org
