3. @CharlieDaniels Complaining is just a way of showing that you want everybody to be as miserable as you are.
Brett Eldredge’s “Beat of the Music” was just certified gold by the RIAA, while the song hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart and the Mediabase/Country Aircheck chart June 16th.
To celebrate the occasion of the song reaching No. 1, Eldredge made a jump into the water with the sharks just off the coast of the Bahamas yesterday. The exclusive story broke this morning on People.com.
After making it back to dry land alive and well, Brett was elated and shared, “People celebrate No. 1′s and gold singles in different ways. I just happen to be lucky enough to have some of my best friends in the world come out and celebrate with me in a BIG way. I want to thank everyone at country radio, my management and promotion teams and my family, friends and fans who have supported me all of these years. Life is good. Rock the Ocean. Love life….it’s all you’ve gotta do!”
The enthusiastic stunt was part of a bet Eldredge made before the song hit the top of the charts, when he agreed to go shark diving should he be lucky enough to have his second consecutive single off his debut album reach No. 1. This underwater gold single and No. 1 plaque presentation is believed to be the first of its kind.
Eldredge and his team made the dive in association with The Rock the Ocean Foundation, who organized the shark diving adventure with Stuart Cove’s Dive Bahamas. Rock the Ocean’s mission is to increase public awareness about impacting the world’s oceans and to support scientific research, education and the ocean conservation initiatives.

ACM Lifting Lives Music Camp was in session this past week in Nashville, Tenn. with campers from around the country participating in a week of activities and excursions around Music City. The residential camp has the dual purpose of studying Williams syndrome while providing music enrichment through performance and education.
On Wednesday, reigning ACM Song of the Year winner Lee Brice visited the campers during a recording session, where they recorded their original song, “Bright Eyes” with producer Ross Copperman at Ocean Way Nashville Recording Studios. The campers wrote the song on Monday during a songwriting session with The Band Perry.
Later that day, ACM New Artist nominee Brett Eldredge and multiple ACM award winner Wynonna dropped by and participated in a karaoke event at Winner’s with the campers.
The camp is a partnership between ACM Lifting Lives and Vanderbilt Kennedy Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities. This year marks the 10th anniversary of Vanderbilt Kennedy Center’s Music Camp and the 5th year that ACM Lifting Lives has been involved.
Brett Eldredge is fresh off his #1 high for “Beat of the Music,” but he’s ready to roll out his next hit with the ultra-romantic “Mean to Me.” He tells radio.com that the single is something pretty special to him, and pretty much everyone else who hears it.
I wanted to write a song telling someone, ‘If I could mean half as much as these things, half as much as you mean to me, then that would be amazing.’”
“I was just fiddling around on the guitar and we just started pouring them out [the lyrics] in these real descriptive ways. It’s a real special song that hopefully I can sing to my future soulmate one day,” Eldredge added.
started playing ‘Mean To Me’ out at shows and girls just go crazy for it. I literally had somebody get engaged at one of my shows to that song,” he said. “People started saying, ‘I walked down the aisle to that song,’ ‘That’s my girlfriend and I’s first dance.’ It’s cool to hear that. That song has really struck a chord with folks out there. I hope I can sing that one for a long, long time.”
