Carrie Underwood‘s new song “The Champion” opened Super Bowl LII on Sunday night (2/4) alongside a new music video.

After teasing the upbeat sports anthem on Jan. 7, Carrie officially unveiled “The Champion,” which features rapper Ludacris, on Jan. 12. Carrie co-wrote the song in 2017 with Brett James, Chris DeStefano and Ludacris.

“When we were writing “The Champion,” our main focus was to celebrate athletes at the top of their game, but we also wanted the song to resonate with people in their everyday lives,” Underwood says in a press release. “We hope the lyrics will inspire people to push themselves beyond their limits to conquer anything they are trying to accomplish or overcome. There’s a champion in every single one of us!”

“The Champion (featuring Ludacris),” rocketed to #1 on the charts shortly after appearing in the broadcast. It remains in that position as of press time at 12:15AM ET.

NBC will also use the song during its coverage of the 2018 Winter Olympics.
