Last night, Garth Brooks took home the coveted Entertainer of the Year award during the 51st Annual CMA Awards. Backstage, the singer admitted that he had lip synced during his performance, and some folks are saying a real entertainer doesn’t do that…EVER.
“We’re in the middle of 12 shows in 10 days. Not 10 shows in 12 days, 12 shows in 10 days,” he explained. “We did a game-time call on whether to sing the track or lip-sync, and decided to lip-sync. The voice just isn’t there anymore, and you want to represent country music as best you can.”
I have seen and heard Garth sing live, and he is amazing. However, no one plays more shows than Garth, and it can be very very hard on someone to perform that many shows and not have problems.
