Little Big Town traded in a pontoon for a cruise ship this past weekend, taking part in Carnival LIVE’s concert series aboard the Carnival Liberty. The four-some gave fans a treat, topping off a Bahamas vacation with an intimate show of just a few hundred.
Taking the stage with the song “Night on Our Side,” the band got the crowd engaged taking them through the set which included summer party anthem “Pontoon,” “Girl Crush,” “Better Man,” “Day Drinking,” their current single “Happy People” and more.
Little Big Town has a unique ability to highlight each member of the band individually with music. Instead of keeping one or the other front and center for the entire show, each member is given a chance to highlight their voices and styles. Kimberly sang “Beat Up Bible” an literally brought tears to my eyes. True, I was feeling rather emotional, but her voice has the sweetest tone.
The group got the crowd to their feet with cover mash-up of “When Doves Cry” and Alicia Keys’ “Fallin’.” The singing was loud, and the applause and reaction was deafening.
Unlike some acts, Little Big Town doesn’t depend on theatrics. Instead, they let the harmonies and music take center stage, which was very apparent when they performed “Sober” and “Little White Church.” Honestly is a refreshing change.
If you haven’t seen Little Big Town perform in a while; I suggest you buy yourself a ticket and prepare to be entertained. If you haven’t booked yourself on a Carnival Cruise…What in the hell are you waiting for?
There are more acts to come this year on Carnival LIVE’s concert series. Future acts will be announced in the coming weeks, so I’d get ready to be entertained and relaxed.
