Following one of the most talked about performances at the ACM Awards last weekend, Grammy-award winning superstars Tim McGraw & Faith Hill launched their 65-city Soul2Soul The World Tour 2017 on Friday night to a sold-out crowd, which included Matthew McConaughey & New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. Tim & Faith thrilled the audience with their deep catalog of hits, along with their brand new single “Speak to a Girl.”
Delivering a “powerful tour launch” that the New Orleans Times-Picayune described as “both rocking and sweetly sincere,” it praised the tour’s “imaginative production design” and Tim & Faith’s unmatched onstage chemistry, further cementing the show as a “powerfully delivered and simultaneously tenderly intimate performance between the duo.”
While The Advocate similarly hailed the tour’s “smartly conceived and executed production as sharp as the cut of McGraw’s skinny slacks,” it lauded that “the bells and whistles never overwhelmed the human element at the heart of the show” and likened the couple’s chemistry during the encore to “watching a renewal of their wedding vows” – an intimacy that showcased “why Soul2Soul worked so well yet again.”
A celebration of the 10th anniversary of their record-breaking “Soul2Soul II” tour, the highest-grossing multi-year country music tour of all time, Soul2Soul The World Tour 2017 marks the first time Faith has toured since 2007. The tour will continue across the country with a variety of different opening acts throughout the trek. Full details and tour dates can be found at http://soul2soultour.com/.
