Trisha Yearwood’s Super Bowl countdown on Saturday morning (1/28) with the 50th episode of her Facebook Live show, T’s Coffee Talk. The country star sported eye-black and a Steve McNair Tennessee Titan’s jersey in honor of her adopted hometown, while her friend (and frequent T’s Coffee Talk co-host) Mandy sported a Peyton Manning Indianapolis Colts jersey. As a Georgia girl, Trisha announced that she’s rooting for the Atlanta Falcons at the Super Bowl but whichever team wins, it’s all about the Super Bowl party at home with friends.
During the informal chat, Trisha shared easy-to-make party recipes, like her Fancy Chili. In honor of Cincinnati’s famous chili, she and Mandy proved there’s no wrong time for the dish as they enjoyed it for breakfast. Other party food suggestions included Jell-O shots, queso, and artichoke dip. She recommends her Redneck Sushi as great finger food and serves her Green Punch colored to match the team they’re rooting for. The casual host revealed she’s often still cooking as guests arrive and says above all, keep it simple – the best recipes are easy to make and often the most exotic spices in her kitchen are salt and pepper.
Each week on T’s Coffee Talk, Trisha chats with fan and shares anecdotes. This week, she received compliments for her performance the night before and she gave the praise right back, saying it was one of the loudest sing-alongs she’s ever heard during “How Do I Live.” She gave away sets of her modern, feminine fragrance, Trisha Yearwood (perfume and body mist) with a shout-out to winner, Deborah Schneider.
When room service arrived with fresh coffee, Trisha forgot she had her eye-black on when answering the door. It recalled a (mis)adventure in babysitting years ago in Oklahoma when she and Mandy stayed up late with the girls while her husband was away. Shortly after Mandy left, she called Trisha saying she’d encountered “something in the road.” Loading the girls in the car, Trisha found her friend pulled over behind a miniature donkey who’d wandered away from home! The police came to help and only later did they realize they were chatting to the officers still dolled up from the makeovers the little girls had given them.
