“Over the past six years ‘Rock the South’ has become synonymous with ‘ultimate fan experience,’ and this year we sought to once again bring a great mix of stadium entertainment and breakout stars to the Cullman area, while offering affordable ticket prices. Last year’s festival hosted more than 25,000 fans a day with great acts like Florida Georgia Line, Thomas Rhett, Kelsea Ballerini and Kane Brown, and this year we are thrilled to bring two of the largest acts in country, superstars Luke Bryan and Sam Hunt,” said Nathan Baugh, co-founder, Rock the South.
“Rock the South has grown considerably since its first year, and brings many people from all across the country who look forward to experiencing the festival and our community. Rock the South is a homegrown festival that not only brings people to Cullman for top-notch entertainment, it also very generously gives back to our community through donations to local charitable organizations year-after-year,” added Mayor Jacobs.
Originally intended to be a one-year celebration of recovery after a series of tornados devastated the Cullman, Alabama area, Rock the South has expanded to become a massive celebration of what the Alabama area has to offer, while retaining is commitment of giving back to the area. Past performers have included Florida Georgia Line, Dierks Bentley, Brantley Gilbert, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Little Big Town, Thomas Rhett, Alan Jackson, Tyler Farr, Travis Tritt, Kelsea Ballerini and many more. Since the first Rock the South in 2012, the festival has continued to be an important community partner giving back over $400,000 to local charities including The Link of Cullman County, Cullman Parks and Recreation, and Worldvision.
