It was Sunday fun day at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena for some country music families, including Josh Tunrner, who enjoyed an afternoon of basketball and entertainment provided by the world-famous Harlem Globetrotters, the team which has been entertaining millions of fans around the globe for the past 91 consecutive years.
Josh Turner, with his wife Jennifer and sons Hampton, Otis and Colby, joined Allison DeMarcus with children Madeline and Dylan, David Nail with his wife Catherine and twin children Lawson and Lillian, and Country Music Hall of Fame songwriter Bobby Braddock who attended with his daughter, songwriter/actress Lauren Braddock Havey and his grandson, Braddock Havey.
The families were treated to a basketball game featuring the Harlem Globetrotters’ incredible athleticism, theater and rib-splitting comedy which kept them and the packed arena captivated from the first whistle to the last.
At halftime, they attended a meet-and-greet with the players where they posed for photos and had a blast interacting with the team which taught the kids how to spin a basketball on their fingers.
In the game’s final quarter, Josh Turner’s eldest son, Hampton, appeared on the court for the chance to impress the arena with a long shot. With all eyes on the lad, Hampton swished the shot and the arena erupted with cheers. Hampton and the players celebrated on the court while his family beamed with pride from their seats. For his achievement, Hampton was awarded with a Harlem Globetrotters autographed jersey presented by Globetrotters star, Ant Atkinson.
