Taste of the NFL announced that Grammy® Award winning superstar sibling trio The Band Perry will perform at the Party with a Purpose, a ticketed event to be held on Super Bowl Eve, Saturday, February 4, 2017. The 26th Annual Party with a Purpose, a premier sanctioned NFL organization, brings together chefs, players and fans to help fight hunger. This year’s celebrity chef hosts include Richard Blais, Alex Guarnaschelli and Andrew Zimmern, who will all be in attendance to lead the culinary charge at the University of Houston.
The fun-filled evening honors two of America’s favorite pastimes—food and football, as Taste of the NFL’s Party with a Purpose® pairs extraordinary chefs from the 32 NFL cities together with current, Hall of Fame and alumni players from each NFL franchise, serving over 45,000 tastings for 2,500 guests.
“We are excited to perform as part of Party with a Purpose,” said The Band Perry. “Hunger relief is an important cause to us, and one which we will continue to raise awareness for.”
The Band Perry are an unstoppable presence in music. On their 2010 self-titled debut, they delivered five hit singles: the sextuple-platinum chart-topper “If I Die Young”, the platinum-selling “You Lie” and “All Your Life” (a #1 single), “Hip to My Heart,” and the gold-certified “Postcard from Paris.” For their gold-certified 2013 follow-up “Pioneer,” The Band Perry offered up the platinum-selling #1 singles “Better Dig Two” and “DONE.” (a first for Reid and Neil as songwriters), as well as smash hits “Don’t Let Me Be Lonely” and “Chainsaw.” In February 2015, The Band Perry won their first Grammy® Award for Best Country Duo/Group Performance and have also earned multiple awards from the likes of The Country Music Association, CMT Music Awards, the American Country Awards, and the Academy of Country Music. They recently signed a new recording contract, a joint venture with Interscope Records and Mercury Nashville. They are currently putting the finishing touches on their third studio album. Since its inception in 1992, Taste of the NFL has raised and donated over $25 million to food banks and nonprofit organizations in the 32 NFL cities, resulting in excess of 200 million meals for Americans. 100% of the proceeds generated from the Kick Hunger Challenge and the Party with a Purpose® goes directly back to each team’s hometown community.
“Last year was our 25th anniversary and we are thrilled with the momentum and interest moving into our 26th year,” says Taste of the NFL founder Wayne Kostroski. “As Party with a Purpose continues to grow, so has the need for hunger relief unfortunately. We are proud to be celebrating 26 years, over $25 million raised and over 200 million meals provided to food banks and nonprofit organizations across the country.”
