Old Dominion can add another accolade to their already full trophy shelf with their debut album Meat and Candy now being certified GOLD by the RIAA. The news comes almost a year after the release of Meat and Candy (November 6, 2015).
“When we made Meat and Candy, we had no way of knowing if it would go over well or not. We just tried to make a record that would excite us and that we were proud of,” says Matthew Ramsey of Old Dominion. “Hearing that it is now certified Gold really shows us that it is resonating with people in much bigger ways than we could have ever expected. We are extremely proud and grateful.”
The critically praised album released was produced by GRAMMY Award-winning songwriter and producer, Shane McAnally, and features the TWO-week No. 1, PLATINUM-certified “Break Up With Him,” the GOLD-certified hit “Snapback,” which according to Mediabase was the No. 1 most played Country song in Canada, second most played Country song in the U.S., and the current radio single “Song For Another Time” which currently sits at No. 2 on both the Billboard Country Airplay and Mediabase Country charts.
Throughout 2016 since Meat and Candy was released, Old Dominion has gone on to be the sixth most played Country artist on radio according to Mediabase, as well as being named the ACM New Vocal Group/Duo of the Year, ACC Breakthrough Group/Duo of the Year, AIMP Artist-Writer of the Year, Music Row Breakthrough Artist of the Year in addition to being nominated for TWO 2016 CMA Awards; Best New Artist and Vocal Group of the Year.
