Kree Harrison Heads Out on Promotional Tour for New Album “Dead Man’s House”

Nashville based independent label and publisher Plaid Flag Music is lining up a U.S. promotional tour to support the release of Texas native Kree Harrison’s 13- track debut album, This Old Thing, now available on iTunes, as well as all streaming services.

“After years of living in Nashville, being inspired, learning, trying to figure out my own journey, I’m proud to say, I know I’ve made the record when and how I was supposed to. I’m so excited to share it with everyone!” said Harrison.

Harrison quickly became a fan favorite while appearing on Season twelve of American Idol in the spring of 2013.  Americans became instantly enchanted with the songstress, helping her to finish as one of the top two finalists. The audience was mesmerized by Harrison’s seemingly effortless vocals and humble attitude – as well as those who served on the judges’ panel. “She has a lot of vulnerability and strength that is apparent when she performs. She comes from a very roots-y, earthy, real family and I think that’s what’s apparent in what she does. There’s no pageantry in her,” said Keith Urban, American Idol judge and champion of the Texas singer. “She sings because she needs to sing. Not because she wants to be famous.”

Harrison has performed with numerous artists from Urban to Aretha Franklin and has also collaborated with many of Nashville’s top tunesmiths. She has made a name for herself with her stunning background harmony work since her move to Nashville from Woodville, Texas in 2002. On Harrison’s debut album, Kate York, Lucie Silvas and close friend and fellow Texan Kacey Musgraves returned the favor by adding background vocals on Harrison’s record.

Harrison signed publishing and recording contracts with Plaid Flag Music in 2015 and immediately began the creative process. Harrison recorded at Echo Mountain Recording Studio in Asheville, N.C. where she worked closely with friend and Plaid Flag writer Benjy Davis (Lost Souls Like Us) to complete the project. Davis teamed up with Jordan Lehning (whose work has been featured on material by artists such as Alison Krauss, George Jones, and Aubrie Sellers) to co-produce the album. The vintage feel of the studio – coupled with Harrison’s timeless vocals on each of the 13 tracks –  definitely proves to be a powerful combination. The debut single, “This Old Thing,” with a simultaneously released music video, lays down chunky grooves and a horn section. “At the center of it all is Harrison’s mature, soulful vocal and lyrics,” says Rolling Stone magazine. Harrison is following up with “Dead Man’s House,” a slinky blues tune that sounds like it comes straight out of Muscle Shoals which is now available on iTunes and streaming services.

A multi-city U.S. promotional tour for the singer is set to launch this fall and will include stops in Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Atlanta, New York, Chicago and more. Follow Kree on social media or visit her website for more information and tour schedule.
