On Friday night, Gary Allan had a chance to thank a very special fan for her loyalty. When the singer heard that one of his biggest fans, Renee, was planning to attend the show at The Cotillion, and that it would be her 300th show, he decided to do something special as a thank you. When Renee arrived at the venue, Allan and his band, were waiting back stage and surprised her with a private gathering, a custom designed cake, on-stage seats and a specially designed and hand crafted ring from Gary’s jewelry collection.
It was 19 years ago when Allan first met Renee and her sister Tammy, while opening for David Lee Murphy and MarkChesnutt. Renee was a huge Murphy fan and was able to meet Allan several times at shows. After Allan met Renee and her sister Tammy several times, he told them he would steal them and make them Gary Allan fans. The then, up and coming singer got his wish. In the last nineteen years since, Renee has been to 300 Gary Allan shows all over the nation. The Pinson,Tennessee native has traveled as far as Washington State to see the singer perform.
When asked about the night, Allan told Taste Of Country it was “a magic moment for all of us. It’s great getting to know our fans like that. I just think it’s wild that someone would come to see me 300 times. I love that she’s a great concert-goer…it’s totally flattering. It was cool! She was super surprised…it was really sweet.“
