Jack Ingram turned a live TV snafu into a gorgeous acapella performance, proving this isn’t the beloved Texas-Country artist’s first rodeo.
To mark the release of his first new album in seven years, Midnight Motel (Rounder Records), Ingram visited Good Day Austin/Fox 7 to perform and discuss this evening’s in-store at Waterloo Records.
The snafu occurred when Ingram’s guitar string broke right in the middle of his performance of…wait for it…“Nothing To Fix.” The irony of the moment quickly made for an even more poignant moment as Jack rolled with the punches and carried on acapella. The new song is about being cautiously optimistic and making the best of a troubled, and loving, relationship. Therefore, what could have been a live TV disaster became an even more meaningful delivery of the song.
