Check Out Jeannie Seely on “The Test Drive”

Jeannie Seely

GRAMMY® award-winning and country music legend Jeannie Seely appears in the most recent edition of “The Test Drive.” During the episode, Seely talks about her early inspirations in the music industry, winning a GRAMMY® and celebrating 50 since debuting on the Grand Ole Opry. “When you win the respect and approval of your peers, then you really know you’ve done something special,” Seely said about winning a GRAMMY.

Seely also remembers a time when women were not allowed to host a portion of the Grand Ole Opry.

“I’m very proud to say I was the first female artist to host consistently and the one who really pried the doors open.”

Seely will also appear on “The Joey Canyon Show” August 26 (click here for local listings). Hosted by Denver’s own Joey Canyon, the show aims to entertain fans in a location ‘where the music meets the mountains.’ “The Joey Canyon Show” airs in more than 65 million homes nationwide on RFD-TV. The program is carried by Comcast, DirecTV and Dish.

June 2016 marked the 50th anniversary of Seely’s first guest performance on the Grand Ole Opry. At that time her first hit, “Don’t Touch Me” (recorded on March 12, 1966), was climbing the country music charts. On September 16, 1967, Seely became an official member of the Grand Ole Opry.

Along with dozens of accolades, including awards from Billboard, Cashbox and Record World, Seely has achieved No. 1 songs as a solo artist, as a duet partner and as a songwriter.
