Garth Brooks has parted ways with RCA Nashville after one album and has announced that he will release his two upcoming projects via his self-owned Pearl Records.
“The Tennessean” reports the split happened a few weeks ago.
Garth told the newspaper,
“I’ve always enjoyed being part of a team. I think you can always be part of something bigger with a team than you can be by yourself. Would I love to be part of a label group? Sure I would. But with the new streaming income now, I can’t make them money.”
He says he’s working on a deal with a big company that might absorb his streaming service, Ghost Tunes.
