Luke Bryan was featured on the Today Show on Sunday, giving an inside look into his music, family and what inspires him. He was truly a country boy who was inspired by more than just country music thanks to his siblings who listened to Beastie Boys, Journey and Def Leopard. Self-taught at guitar and piano, Luke decided that music was what he was going to pursue. After the death of his brother and attending college, Luke decided to head to Nashville.
“I want people to have a blast,” Luke says. “Do I get judged at maybe not being as artistic as somebody else? Probably.” Luke says, not apologizing insisting he just wants to bring people together to have a good time.
Luke has enjoyed a long and successful career. The country boy just turned 40, and he’s not entirely sure about that big number.
“Caroline says growing old is a privilege,” Luke says, taking a big breath. “And it is…I like the wisdom of 40, but I’m not sure I like the sore knees at the end of a show.”
