It’s a sad day for Dierks Bentley fans, but no one is more heartbroken than Dierks himself. Dierks’ four-legged friend and sidekick, Jake has crossed the rainbow bridge. There’s been no word as to what exactly happened, only a simple post on twitter wishing him a restful sleep. The 15 year old dog has been fighting cancer with chemotherapy and radiation and also has had issues due to age.

Jake has been on the road with Dierks since the beginning, often walking the red carpet at award shows and enjoying touring with Dierks on the bus. Last year, Jake made an appearance with Dierks at his 10th anniversary of being a Grand Ole Opry member.
Most recently, Jake inspired a verse in the song “Can’t Be Replaced” off Dierks’ album, Black.
For 15 years, right by my side / From a single man to three kids and a wife / Friends come and go, but when it comes to Jake / There’s just some things that can’t be replaced.
Throughout the years, Jake has gone through happy and sad times with his “father.” Deaths of parents, babies being born and getting spooked and running off during a rain storm.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Dierks and his family. Our furry friends are family too, and we know how incredibly sad and difficult it is to lose a pet.
Rest in Peace sweet Jake. Dierks will see you agian.
