The Marshall Tucker Band (MTB) has been announced as one of the featured performers on the new AT&T Skyview Stage at Ascend Amphitheater during this year’s CMA Music Festival in Nashville. The iconic southern rock group will host a special Marshall Tucker Band & Friends concert on the stage, set for Saturday, June 11 at 1:00 PM CT. The band has tapped legendary country trio Larry Gatlin & the Gatlin Brothers to join them on-stage.
“We are thrilled the CMA has invited us back for the fourth straight year to be a part of the biggest festival in country music,” says MTB lead singer Doug Gray. “And singing with Larry, Rudy and Steve Gatlin is going to make for one hell of a show!”
Larry Gatlin notes, “What a kick ass honor it is to be invited to, in fact, kick ass with the MTB. Ain’t that cool folks?”
The Gatlins will also take part in the 50th Annual CMA Awards Panel, set for Sunday, June 12 at 12:15 PM CT on the CMA Closeup Stage. Additional panelists include Ray Stevens, Brenda Lee, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Robert Deaton. The event will be hosted by SiriusXM’s Charlie Monk.
In addition to the MTB’s AT&T Skyview Stage performance, the group will perform the national anthem at the Nightly Concerts at Nissan Stadium on Saturday, June 11 at 7:45 PM CT. Other performers on Saturday night’s lineup include Blake Shelton, Chris Young, Steven Tyler, Florida Georgia Line and more.
The band’s CMA Music Fest performance is a stop on their 2016 “Long Hard Ride” tour. The MTB is expected to perform more than 150 live dates by the year’s end. 2016 marks the group’s 45th year on the road.
