Darius Rucker hosted the ACM Lifting Lives Golf Classic for the 5thconsecutive year in Las Vegas this week and it was all about helping those in need. The ACM Lifting Lives organization is the charitable foundation of the Academy of Country Music, funding music-related therapy and education programs.

Rucker joined fellow artists Drake White and Hudson Moore, along with industry insiders, sponsors, and donors for a scramble style golf tournament.

“You learn patience as a golfer at these events,” laughed Rucker.
“You learn how to make friends… If somebody’s hitting it good, I wanna know why they’re hitting it!”

In addition to ACM Lifting Lives, Rucker is involved with multiple charities, including Patterson’s Academy (in his home state of South Carolina), South Children’s Hospital (where he serves on the board), and the Hootie and the Blowfish Foundation.

Last year, he partnered with the Wounded Warrior Foundation while on tour to give away more than a dozen homes to veterans in multiple cities.

You can catch him on the road this summer with opening acts Dan + Shay and Michael Ray starting June 3.
