High school students in Chris Stapleton’s hometown of Paintsville, Kentucky are in for a treat.
On Thursday, the country star will be performing a special concert for Johnson Central High School students and staff at their gymnasium.
And that’s not all. The “Traveller” singer – who already nabbed an ACM award for new male artist of the year – is also partnering with Ram Trucks and Lifting Lives (the charitable arm of the Academy of Country Music) to dedicate an outdoor performance space at the school constructed by JCHS carpentry students and Ram Nation volunteers.
“While the story of Chris Stapleton may not be widely known, it’s one of pride, dedication and perseverance, all values important to our Ram truck owners,” says Marissa Hunter, director of brand advertising. “It’s a great opportunity and honor for us to go back to Paintsville with Chris to document his return to the place that built his character and work-ethic.”
Later in the evening, Stapleton will be performing a sold-out ‘Ram Trucks Hometown Concert’ for his hometown in the new space.
