Maren Morris shows no signs of stopping. Her song “My Church,” the debut single off Morris’ forthcoming album HERO due June 3rd, continues on an unprecedented rise at country radio; breaking into the Top 10 on Billboard’s Hot Country Airplay chart this week making “My Church” the fastest rising single from a debut artist in 10 years.
Prior to announcing Hero, Morris visited the U.K. with appearances at the C2C (Country to Country) Music Festival where she performed to an audience of 20,000 at The O2 where Morris was moved when the overwhelming festival goers sang in unison the hit song back to the Arlington, Texas native.
In addition to the U.K., Morris’ fan base is sure to grow in Australia with “My Church” shooting straight to No. 1 on the Australian Airplay Country Top 20 chart this week.
This week Morris traveled from abroad to Austin, Texas where she performed multiple shows at the annual SXSW Music Conference and Festival, where NPR’s All Songs Considered claimed to be “watching an artist stand at the actual brink of superstardom.”
To end her multi-week, multi-continent, appearance and tour schedule Morris capped off the week by filming a NPR Late Night Lullaby Session with a bluesy performance of “I Wish I Was,” the song that inspired the HERO album title.
