On Tuesday, Joey Feek was laid to rest in a family plot on the farm land she shared with her husband Rory and their children. The ceremony was attended by close family and friends, and the day couldn’t have been more beautiful. Rory describes the day as beautiful.
Joey’s one hope was that she could “come home” on a beautiful day… and it oh, it was. The daffodils were blooming, the grass was green and sky was bright blue.
In the end, the simple service was a reflection of the person it celebrated. Joey was a simple woman, who loved the Lord, her family and her home. It was more of a celebration of her life than a funeral.
The truth is, Joey will live on forever. Not just in the music she made but in the lives she touched that will go on. In her daughter. In her husband. In all of us who’ve read and prayed and hoped. We are all changed because of her. For the better.
