Garth Brooks and the Miami Dolphins teamed up to host an athletic camp for children in South Florida.
More than 100 boys and girls were on the field Saturday at Carter Park in Fort Lauderdale. The event was a merge between of Brooks’ Teammates for Kids foundation and ProCamps..
The foundation provides scholarships for children who cannot afford to attend camps to have the chance to do so with some of the biggest names in professional sports.
“These kids are our children, and they are the future,” said Brooks. “So I’m proud to be here and couldn’t feel better about being here standing with these guys.”
The two organizations have been working together for 10 years. Urban League of Broward County and Tickets for Kids were also among the groups participating in the event.
