Chris Young celebrated his number one song “I’m Comin Over” this week, with co-writers Corey Crowder and Josh Hoge – and there was a lot to celebrate. The song reached platinum status, selling 1,000,000 copies, and spent three weeks at the top of the Billboard Top Country Airplay chart. It was Young’s seventh number one song as an artist, but his first as a producer and the first for his co-writers Crowder and Hoge.

Young, Crowder, and Hoge were joined at the celebration by their music industry colleagues who helped propel both the single and album to the top of the radio airplay and sales charts. Not only was Young excited to share the honor with two of his best friends, but he was also thrilled to finally see his name on a music row number one banner.

“It’s my very first banner I’ve ever had on music row… The minute I got home, he texted me when it went up; I went home and stopped my car and got out next to it. And that was one of the coolest moments I’ve ever had.”

Co-writer Crowder also produced the “I’m Comin Over” album with Young, bringing a new energy that he had been looking for. When Crowder produced a demo of the song “Alone Tonight” that the three men had written together, Young knew immediately that was the sound he wanted for his new project. Crowder, Hoge, and Young have been close friends for years and wrote five of the eleven tracks on Young’s latest album. The three writers bring different musical styles together, helping create the album’s unique sound.

“I come from a background of pop and soul… Chris is probably the country-est of the three of us and Corey is a rock guy at heart. To me, it’s a little bit of everything that makes it work,” says Josh Hoge.

The album was released in November 2015 and immediately hit the top of the Billboard Country Albums chart.

This likely will not be the only celebration for the three friends. Young’s new single “Think of You,“ featuring Cassadee Pope, was also written by Young, Crowder, and Hoge. Fans will be able to hear the new single live when Pope joins Young on his new tour that kicks off January 21. For details, visit
