Jewel recently celebrated the release of her critically-acclaimed self-produced album, Picking Up The Pieces, and memoir, Never Broken:Songs Are Only Half the Story. The music video for “My Father’s Daughter” tells the story of Jewel’s childhood, shot outside Nashville, Tennessee by director Tom Campbell.

In keeping with her roots, “My Father’s Daughter” also features guest vocals from one of Jewel’s life-long heroes, Dolly Parton. “As a kid growing up with an outhouse, my heroes were always Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn,” Jewel told Billboard when asked about the collaboration. “They were the only other icons I’d heard of that were raised similarly to me. […] I never thought I’d be producing Dolly Parton on a record.”
Jewel fans will get double the excitement today when she appears on Steve Harvey, continuing her promotional tour. Jewel will sit down with Harvey to discuss the personal trials that inspired her to return to her folk roots and write the candid autobiography. Check local listings for Steve Harvey air times.
