The critically-acclaimed music series “Front and Center” and the Country Music Association (CMA) teamed up for another special taping for the CMA Songwriters Series with Kip Moore Monday night in New York City.

Moore, who recently released his sophomore album Wild Ones, performed a stripped-down acoustic performance of songs taken from his current album as well as his biggest hits Monday at the Iridium, the first time the venue has been used for a CMA Songwriters Series taping. A songwriter in his own right, having co-written every track on Wild Ones, plus his previous three No. 1 singles, and penned songs for Jake Owen and Thompson Square, Moore took to the stage with renowned songwriters Brett James and Grammy-nominated front man Jaren Johnston of The Cadillac Three.

While both hit makers penned songs on Moore’s album, Johnston’s eclectic catalogue features No. 1 hits such as “Southern Girl” (Tim McGraw) and “Raise ‘Em Up” (Keith Urban) as well as cuts for Kenny Chesney, Jack’s Mannequin, Miranda Lambert, and Meat Loaf. James, who is a CMA Board member, is a Grammy Award-winning producer and songwriter who has written more than 300 songs recorded by major label recording artists. He is a well-recognized name on the Billboard Country Chart with 13 No. 1 songs and a number of Top 20 singles to his credit.

Prior to the taping, James, Johnston, and Moore took time out from soundcheck to welcome and meet with teachers from Education Through Music (ETM), which is supported by the CMA Foundation. The CMA Foundation is currently investing $145,000 in music education in New York City inner-city schools through the organization. The CMA Foundation and ETM partnered to ensure music teachers are put back in schools, giving students access to quality music education. To date the financial investment has helped more than 20,000 students in New York City schools receive music education as a core subject.

Since 2006, CMA and the CMA Foundation have donated more than $11 million to music education programs across the country. For more information, visit

Kip Moore does things his way, and it’s gonna be his way or he won’t do it. He is honest and genuine to make his emotions felt. He is one of the most gracious and humble artists I have seen in a long time. The Slow Hearts are his rib. I can’t say enough about this human. Luv him and TSH
