Carrie Underwood wants new mommies to take it easy on themselves when it comes to getting that pre-baby body back.
Carrie, who welcomed son Isaiah Michael back in February, recently sat down with Cody Allen and revealed a post-labor and delivery physique shouldn’t be so laborious.
“I think you’ve got to cut yourself some slack,” Carrie tells Cody. “Our bodies, men and women, are designed to do amazing things, and women are the ones that are lucky enough to get to have that experience … to get to make a baby, you know?”
“And it’s beautiful and it’s amazing, and there’s stuff about you that will never be the same. But it’s OK. And you work out when you can, and you treat your body as good as you can with what you put into it. … I don’t know if you’ll ever feel back to normal. I don’t know if I’ll ever be back to normal, but this is the new normal, and I feel good about it.”
Carrie’s new normal also includes a brand-new album and a new fall line of her fitness and lifestyle apparel line, CALIA by Carrie Underwood. Storyteller, which features her current single “Smoke Break,” is set to drop October 23.
