In a new video, Tim McGraw pauses to remember the legacy of country star Lynn Anderson.
Before he walked on stage for his Shotgun Rider Tour‘s stop in Cleveland on Aug. 1, McGraw sat down with his band for a quick warm-up session. With a huge smile on his face, he begins to sing Lynn’s most recognizable hit, “(I Never Promised You a) Rose Garden.” It’s a sweet and heartfelt way to recognize the passing of the multi-award-winning artist who was one of the most successful country singers of the 1970s.
Anderson passed away on July 30 after suffering a heart attack. She had been hospitalized at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville for a case of pneumonia that developed after a recent trip to Italy.
Fans can find a longer version of Tim’s “(I Never Promised You a) Rose Garden” on his official website.
Lynn Anderson’s funeral services were held yesterday at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton in Nashville.
