Grand Ole Opry members Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood made a surprise appearance before a sold-out crowd at the Grand Ole Opry tonight. Introduced by fellow Opry member Vince Gill, Yearwood said to the awestruck audience, “I didn’t have a chance to bring my band or call them or anything, but luckily I live with a Grand Ole Opry member, so if you all would make welcome my guitar player tonight, my husband, Mr. Garth Brooks!” With Brooks on acoustic guitar, Yearwood sang her debut No. 1 smash “She’s In Love With The Boy.”

With, as Yearwood said, “total love and respect to the artists who recorded these songs,” the two then delivered a medley of some of their favorite classic country duets. “We rehearsed in the truck on the way here, so…” Yearwood said as Brooks interjected, “Good luck!” The couple then delivered portions of classics by Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn (“After The Fire Is Gone”), Jim Ed Brown and Helen Cornelius (“I Don’t Want To Have To Marry You”), and George Jones and Tammy Wynette (“Golden Ring”).

Brooks is currently breaking attendance and sell-out records across the U.S. on his “The Garth Brooks World Tour” promoting his current album MAN AGAINST MACHINE.  His next tour stops take him to Houston, Texas on June 26 & 27 and July 3 & 4 and then on to New Orleans, Louisiana on July 10, 11 & 12.

Yearwood’s current album PRIZE FIGHTER is just one of her many exciting projects. The Grammy®-winning singer is also a cookbook author, recently releasing the best-selling Trisha’s Table. She can be seen regularly on the Food Network’s show “Trisha’s Southern Table.”

The Opry is in the midst of its 90th Anniversary celebration, which is set to continue throughout 2015. Among those coming soon to the Opry stage are Kelsea Ballerini, Crystal Gayle, Gill, Hunter Hayes, Maddie & Tae, David Nail, Oak Ridge Boys, Carrie Underwood, and more.  Additional information is available at 800-SEE-OPRY and

I wish my husband and I could get a chance to go to Nashville and see the performer’s at the Grand Ole Opry especially Rascal Flatts. We always think about going during CMA fest because it is around our anniversary. Not this year.

I’m blessed to have moved here 5 years ago and can call it home!
