Even though we dodged morning showers and then sizzled in afternoon sun, Friday of the 45th Annual CMA Fest was AWESOME!!! We spent a majority of the day down at Riverfront Stages. We caught the tail end of Restless Heart (who’ve still got it), then we settled in for entertainment by Kellie Pickler (who looked and sounded amazing), Eric Paslay, and Charles Esten (that’s Deacon from Nashville).
Afterwards we hit-up Brett Eldredge’s fanclub party to see him perform an off-the-cuff set in front of a couple of hundred of his biggest fans.
We enjoyed delish chicken salad sandwiches from Bongo Java before heading down to LP field for a night of amazing concerts by the Oak Ridge Boys, with a Little Big Town surprise during “Elvira,” The Band Perry, Maddie and Tae, Randy Houser, Lee Brice, Lady Antebellum, Zac Brown Band, and Luke Bryan. Normally, Luke would’ve been our favorite of the night, but since his latest music isn’t our cup of tea, Zac Brown Band took the prize for best performances of the night…Thanks to a rousing rendition of “Chicken Fried” and a killer cover of “Bohemian Rhapsody.”
Overall, it was a great day that ended with a party! Off to Day 3 where we’ll be at Riverfront most of the day!!! Check out our photos here.
