Carrie Underwood Back on the Big Screen

Carrie Underwood

NBC Sports Group announced the Friday, July 25 debut of a new cinema spot starring six-time Grammy Award-winner and multi-platinum recording artist Carrie Underwood performing “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night,” the opening theme for primetime television’s No. 1 program, Sunday Night Football on NBC.

The piece, a 2½-minute behind-the-scenes look at the making of this year’s Sunday Night Football show open featuring Underwood and NFL stars, will debut Friday, July 25 on more than 19,000 movie screens in National CineMedia’s FirstLook pre-show program in AMC, Cinemark, and Regal Entertainment Group and other top theaters nationwide.

The announcement was made during NBC Sports Group’s presentation at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour in Los Angeles, Calif.

“Waiting All Day for Sunday Night” is set to the original Joan Jett song, “I Hate Myself for Loving You.” This marks Underwood’s second season performing the song with NBC Sports.

  1. Heather says:

WOW…So proud of Carrie and happy I will be able to see her on the big screen. For an off year working on her album, Carrie has been all over the place. She has had almost as many appearances as a touring artist, not counting the many times she has been on the Opry (again on 7/25 or 26 for 2 shows). So happy to be a fan.
