ACM-Awards-logo-2014

The 49th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards will open with an explosive performance by The Band Perry, and feature a slate of special performances by artists including Luke Bryan, Hunter Hayes, Miranda Lambert, George Strait, and Florida Georgia Line on the LIVE broadcast from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas Sunday, April 6th at 8:00 PM live ET/delayed PT on CBS.

The Band Perry will open this year’s telecast with an action packed performance of their new single “Chainsaw.” Miranda Lambert and George Strait will perform a tribute medley in honor of Merle Haggard’s prolific 50 years in country music, including “Tonight the Bottle Let Me Down” and “I’m A Lonesome Fugitive.” Additionally, Garth Brooks will present Haggard with the Crystal Milestone Award. Hunter Hayes will perform his hit song “Invisible” (from his new album “Storyline,” available May 6th) in conjunction with ConAgra Foods’ Child Hunger Ends Here campaign. Luke Bryan and Florida Georgia Line will perform “This Is How We Roll” at the 4th Annual ACM Fan Jam via live remote at the Mandalay Bay Events Center with action sports stars from Nitro Circus showing off their incredible BMX skills and more.

These artists join previously announced performers including Jason Aldean, Eric Church, Brett Eldredge, Toby Keith, Justin Moore, Kip Moore, Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, and Lady Antebellum with legendary musician Stevie Nicks. Additional acts and presenters will be announced in the coming week.

  1. Heather says:

A lot of kids on campus are very angry that Carrie Underwood was snubbed yet again for Entertainer of the Year. she is not on the list of performers –so—we will not be watching the show. Carrie, Bruce S., Bonnie R., Emmy L. Harris, Stevie Nicks and others are going to be performing at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in May. They will be honoring Linda Ronstadt (who is very deserving). It will be aired on HBO. Can’t wait. Another reason that Carrie should be included in the ETOTY awards. Carrie is the biggest asset to country music today and is loved and respected by all genres and around the world—yet country music ignores her. Really turns us off country music and the voters that seem to be biased and vote for their favorite—not the artist that has done (as stated in the rules) the most and definitely deserves the nomination and award.
