Cole Swindell’s “Chillin It” Gets Some Gold

Cole Swindell

Cole Swindell is set to release his self-titled debut album February 18th on Warner Bros. Records. The album artwork was released to fans Monday in addition the album’s first single, “Chillin’ It,” becoming the first single in all genres to receive Gold certification from the R.I.A.A. in 2014. “Chillin’ It” is currently No. 7 on the Country Airplay chart. The single has sold over 600,000 copies making “Chillin’ It” the highest selling debut single released in 2013 from a solo country male. Swindell is gearing up to head out with Luke Bryan this month, beginning January 16 in Columbus, Ohio for his “That’s My Kind of Night” tour.

Singer-songwriter and Georgia native Cole Swindell has been part of the Nashville music scene since before his current hit, “Chillin’ It,” became an independent radio sensation. While on the road with good friend Luke Bryan, Swindell used the time to master his craft and wrote several songs for Bryan’s Spring Break EPs as well as cuts for Thomas Rhett, Scotty McCreery, Florida Georgia Line, Chris Young and Craig Campbell. Now with Warner Bros. Records, Swindell’s single “Chillin’ It” has proven to connect with fans by rapidly climbing the country charts. Known for his high-energy performances, Swindell has a growing reputation as one of Nashville’s most exciting young performers.

Yeah, Cole Swindell sucks. This song is just another one of those “bro country” songs, which shouldn’t even be a thing, but unfortunately is infiltrating country music at the moment. Looks at the company he is in, “Thomas Rhett, Florida Georgia Line, Luke Bryan”. STOP WITH THE C-RAP (country rap).

  2. Ron Lee says:

Well, at least 600,000 people think you are wrong “bro”, but thanks for clicking the article anyhow to tell everyone, it must make you feel so much better. Have a nice day.

  3. Kristie Petree says:

While everyone in the world is entitled to their own opinion and I support Freedom of Speech, I will never understand why a person who obviously doesn’t like the singer/songwriter/song would click on a story about said singer/songwriter/song and proceed to say they don’t like them and their music sucks. Anyway just thought I would voice my opinion as you did yours. So here’s a few tidbits about Cole that since in your opinion he sucks I thought you should know: his debut single “Chillin’ It” which you labeled a “Bro Country Song” is the first single across all genres to earn a “GOLD” record from the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) in 2014 selling over 600,000 copies, “Chillin’ It” is currently at #7 on the country charts and still climbing, he is one week away from touring with the HOTTEST ACT in Country Music Luke Bryan who sold out Madison Square Gardens not ONCE, but TWICE for this upcoming year tour, did I mention that his first official job as an opening act is to open shows for the current 2013 ACM Entertainer of the Year Luke Bryan, also did you know he co-wrote “Outta My Head” performed by Craig Campbell and it spent 54 weeks on the Billboard charts. That distinction qualifies it as the second longest-charting single in Billboard’s HISTORY, behind Lee Brice’s “Love Like Crazy” that was on the chart for 56 weeks, “Chillin’ It” was the #1 song on the Hot 59 chart for 2013 on SirusXM The Highway, he has SOLD OUT several debut bar shows as the headlining act that even Luke Bryan didn’t sell out when he first performed at those bars back in Luke’s early bar days. He has penned songs that are currently performed by Florida Georgia Line, Thomas Rhett, Luke Bryan, Chris Young, Craig Campbell, and Scotty McCreery and these songs are on some of the hottest selling CDS in Country Music right now, and last year that was just 9 days ago his song “Chillin’ It” that you call a “Bro Country Song” was the highest selling debut single by a solo country male artist for 2013.

Just curious dear guest how was your end of the year for 2013 and what have you accomplished so far in the short 9 days of 2014?

Hope you have a great rest of the week dear guest while the rest of the country music world is “Chillin’ It” right on up the charts.

    :)

I agree with you 100% Kristie!

  5. What Kristie says…litereally!

THIS is why I love The Bull Atlanta’s listeners. Cole just sold out one of our Listener Only shows. He was awesome. We support our Georgia Country Artists and Cole is more than deserving.

You can’t make everyone happy – no matter who you are. But I always find it ironic that people tear down an artist. If you don’t like it…simply don’t listen. It takes effort to write nasty comments – but it takes more effort sometimes to support them and follow their success.

Good job, Kristie. We love ya!

    Kristen

  6. And by litereally – I mean Lit-er-REALLY!

What a jerk!!! Don’t like it and don’t listen to it. People relate to Cole Swindell, Luke Bryan, Thomas Rhett and Florida Georgia Line songs and their lyrics Becasue they write about ” US” & “Our lives” and at the same time staying fresh and current. It is why they are continually topping the chart. Your arrogant and blunt comments have so much hatred, jealousy and negativity to only prove one thing. And that is you are extremely pathetic and have a very low self esteem.

  8. Becky Crumley says:

Love Cole Swindell and all of his work! whether he’s singing it or writing it. Kristie I agree with your response to the negative comment on here. We know better!

  9. brent says:
