On Monday, at her parent’s home in Greenville, Tennessee, the front woman of The Band Perry was taken off the market. Boyfriend of a year and a half, Toronto Blue Jay J.P. Arencibia, surprised Perry, but not her family, with a storybook proposal.

According to The Tennessean, Kimberly had planned to pick Arencibia up from the airport, but was instead surprised by her entire family on the front porch of their home and her boyfriend standing under and oak tree.

“I saw that and I thought, ‘This is really happening,’ ” she said. Remembering thinking in her younger years “if I get proposed to in this life, I hope it happens underneath this tree.”

Then, her mother sent her upstairs to change into her favorite pink dress, the one she had always hoped she’d be wearing when the question was popped. Upstairs already laid out was the dress, a letter, and a bracelet her grandfather had given her grandmother.

I got to read the letter and get dressed and put on my grandfather’s bracelet,” she said. “I came back out on the front porch and he was standing there and he got down on one knee. It was perfect.”

Kimberly knew that Arencibia was the one from early on in the relationship when familiar insecurities vanished. Even when they were apart, she always felt confident and connected.

I’ve never felt that with anyone before,” she said. “He’s just a really gentle soul. He balances me for sure.”

And what did he slip on her finger?? Designed by a friend in Chicago, the singer said it’s emerald cut, “which is my absolute favorite,” and it’s three or 3.3 karats.

Congrats to the happy couple!!!

The Band Perry will soon hit the road on their ‘We Are Pioneers World Tour.’
