Chris Young is releasing his much-anticipated fourth studio album “A.M.” today, September 17th. With past hits like “Tomorrow” and “Gettin’ You Home,” and the current energy charged single “ Aw Naw,” Chris has certainly set the bar high. On this latest project he certainly does not disappoint. Chris delivers an impressive album filled with ballads that will make you melt and party songs that will be your best friend on a Friday night.
The album has 11 tracks and kicks off with the lead single “Aw Naw” and is followed by the melodically pleasing “Hold You To It.” This song is an instant favorite and highlights Chris’s smooth deep baritone voice. “Text Me Texas” is another song that will hook you from the very first note. While Chris has a voice that could make anything sound good, the more traditional sounding stripped down songs highlight his immense vocal talent the best. If you love hearing Chris sing “Gettin’ You Home” you will fall head over heels for “Text Me Texas.” Chris shows his vulnerability and emotion on the powerful ballad “Goodbye” and proves mid tempo songs are also his sweet spot on the charming “Who I Am With You.”
There are also several tracks where Chris really kicks things into high gear. The title track “A.M.” will no doubt make for a great live performance and “Nothin’ But the Cooler Left” is a leave your cares behind good time song. “Lighters In The Air” has a bit of rock feel, but delivers great relatable lyrics and continues to showcase Chris as an extremely diverse artist.
This album is chalked full of great songs. I can see many cuts off “A.M.” becoming radio hits and it is my hope this album gets the attention it deserves. Chris Young is consistently putting out great music and this latest album maintains that trend. He has one of the most recognizable and solid country voices in the genre today and this album demonstrates his depth as an artist. I would absolutely recommend “A.M.” and would say it is one of the must have albums of 2013!
“A.M.” is available in stores and on iTunes TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 17th! Check it out!
