Dolly Parton

The largest privately-owned collection of Dolly Parton stagewear and memorabilia is just one of the exciting exhibits awaiting visitors to the 2013 Country Music Association’s CMA Music Festival 2013, set for June 6-9 in Nashville, TN.

The exhibit will be staged by Rockology LLC, one of the entertainment industry’s leading authorities on the collection, appraisal, brokerage and exhibition of music and pop-culture memorabilia. Rockology has been commissioned to serve as the Master Curator for CMA’s AT&T U-Verse Fan Fair X, located in Nashville’s new Music City Convention Center which will greet the estimated 300,000 die-hard fans from 50 states and 41 countries.

The Parton collection will feature stage wear dating from the early part of her career to current, along with clothing worn on album covers, personal items and an elaborate king-sized bed. The clothing will be worn by custom-made Dolly Parton mannequins that “include her most famous assets,” said Rockology President Stephen Shutts. “This collection is so impressive that Dolly herself has even visited the collector’s home to see it.”

Also key to the FFX exhibit are items from contemporary Country Stars Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift, Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts, The Band Perry and more. Vintage Corvettes belonging to Steve Wariner and also Kix Brooks will be displayed. Also featured will be paintings by Wariner and photography from Ronnie Dunn.

Intriguing interactive exhibits will include a guitar-luthier workshop as well as an exhibit featuring custom-designed leather items from Ethos Custom Brands, during which fans will be allowed to watch the intricate design, patterning, hand-tooling and finishing of guitar-straps, cuffs and boots similar to that which their favorite stars wear.

“These items show that there’s more to these stars than simply the music,” says Shutts. “They are real people with real lives who share common interests with their fans. It’s a terrific way to connect with their audience. We’re excited to share some of our most unique memorabilia and artifacts to those who will appreciate them the most. ”

In addition to countless exhibitions over the past 15 years in large fairs, festivals, hotels, casinos and other venues, Rockology’s memorabilia exhibits have been featured in recent years with Rascal Flatts ’“Flatts Fest” and Brooks & Dunn’s “Neon Circus Tour.” Shutts, an esteemed member of the music and pop-culture memorabilia community, was the driving force behind the $1 million sale of Elvis Presley’s Audubon Drive home, as well as Elvis’ beloved Memphis roller coaster The Zippin Pippin.

Shutts and Robert Reynolds (Grammy-winning founder of country super-group The Mavericks) will star as the undisputed kings of music memorabilia in their CMT reality show, Raiders of Rock. With the first 10 episodes already produced and scheduled for a summer debut, Raiders of Rock features the duo traveling across the country in search of (and bargaining for) rare and unusual pieces of music and pop culture memorabilia.
