The 21st Annual Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival Presented by Regions Bank kicked off Tuesday night at nine Nashville venues with some of the biggest names in music leading the charge. Virtually every venue sold out last night, indicating one of the most exciting Tin Pan South events ever.

The cast, crew and songwriters of ABC’s “Nashville” turned out in full force at 3rd & Lindsley. The show’s band leaders Colin Linden and Buddy Miller welcomed an all-star lineup onto the stage during the two-hour event. Connie Britton (“Rayna James”), Hayden Panettiere (“Juliette Barnes”), Charles Esten (“Deacon Clayborne”), Clare Bowen (“Scarlett O’Connor”), Sam Palladio (“Gunnar Scott”), Jonathan Jackson (“Avery Barkley”), Lennon & Maisy Stella (“Maddie Conrad & Daphne Conrad”), Chris Carmack (new character “Will”), Gary Nicholson, Erin McCarley, Kate York, Tyler James, Sarah Buxton and Kenzie Wetz thrilled the capacity crowd with their renditions of songs featured in the hit show. The show marked the first time Britton and Panettiere played to a live audience, and Britton and Esten treated the audience with a duet performance that has not yet aired on “Nashville.”

Over at Douglas Corner, superstar Martina McBride dropped in on the the late show with Dustin Lynch, Jason Sever, Jeffrey Steele and Rachel Thibodeu and dazzled the crowd with a song. Tonic’s Emerson Hart surprised the crowd at the Listening Room and rocked the crowd with Lady A’s Charles Kelley, Dave Barnes and Kevin Griffin.
