Last week, Jake Owen celebrated his third consecutive #1 smash – and first that he co-penned – “The One That Got Away.” BMI hosted a lively party at the BMI office in Nashville, TN. Family, friends and members of the music industry community gathered to congratulate Jake and his co-writers Dallas Davidson and Jimmy Ritchey, who celebrated their fourteenth and first #1 songs respectively.
“The One That Got Away” has been certified GOLD and is featured on Jake’s chart-topping album Barefoot Blue Jean Night. The RCA Nashville project also launched back-to-back, multi-week #1 hits with the nearly double Platinum-selling title track and the almost Platinum “Alone with You.” The American Country Awards 2012 Breakthrough Artist of the Year, who is currently on tour with Jason Aldean, is already Top 30 & climbing with his follow-up single “Anywhere With You.”
