Charlie Daniels, Chris Young, The Grascals and More to Headline Scholarship for Heroes Event

Charlie Daniels

Legendary musician Charlie Daniels is hosting a special free concert to support Lipscomb University’s Yellow Ribbon Enhancement Program as part of the iostudio Charlie Daniels’ Scholarship for Heroes event.

Performances by Daniels along with Chris Young, The Grascals, Keni Thomas, Bleach and other special guests will be part of the program set for Tuesday, March 5 at 7 p.m. in Lipscomb’s Allen Arena.

Mary Byers, president of American Gold Star Mothers, Inc., will also be a featured guest.

Daniels will be touring the country in 2013, creating greater awareness of the national Veterans Yellow Ribbon education program. Lipscomb’s Yellow Ribbon Enhancement Program offers eligible Post 9/11 GI Bill veterans and their family members an undergraduate degree tuition-free or a graduate degree either tuition-free or at a greatly reduced tuition rate.

“We have so many heroes whose needs fly below our radar. This shouldn’t be happening and this event is helping to make sure it doesn’t,” said Daniels.

FREE tickets are made available through the generosity of the event sponsors. They are available at all Middle Tennessee Daily’s and Twice Daily’s locations, Darrell Waltrip Automotive in Franklin, Tenn., and the Lipscomb University box office. Call 615.966.7075.  Guests will have an opportunity to make a donation at the event. Proceeds from the event benefit Lipscomb University’s Charlie Daniels Scholarship for Heroes Fund benefiting the university’s Yellow Ribbon Program.
