Luke Bryan is in the midst of his first arena headlining tour. As these things go, I’m sure putting his name on top of the bill was a little nerve racking…I mean…what if no one comes?? What if all of this hard work and effort end in tragic disappointment?? As if.
In fact, those concerns are moot at this point. Luke’s Dirt Road Diaries Tour with special guests Florida Georgia Line and Thompson Square has sold out show after show, and after attending the Huntsville stop, I can see why. According to The Boot, the whole experience has given Luke a peace of mind he didn’t have before.
“I never would have imagined they would be selling out this quick. It’s like an inner peace that I’ve been searching for as an artist. To roll into town, and you know it’s sold out — there’s no better feeling. You won’t be staring at half-empty venues, and they’re going to have to hang curtains to hide open seats. It’s the most gratifying experience in the world.”
“We felt like we were going to be really strong in certain places, but when I get an e-mail or my management calls me or my promoter texts me and goes, ‘Dude, you just sold something out in five minutes.’ That’s where I always dreamed of being — to have music out there that you love playing every night. You hear artists saying that they had to sing a song their whole lives that they hated. I think that’s a tragedy. Every time I look on my set list and see what song I have next, I’m like, ‘Oh, this is going to be fun!’ And that’s such a blessing for me. I love the vibe.”
