According to CBS US 99.5 The Dixie Chicks’ Natalie Maines may not be over the controversy that plagued her back in 2003. A few comments slipped out of Natalie’s mouth recently in L.A. during a Bruce Springsteen tribute.
CMT host Katie Cook had the chance to talk to Natalie on the red carpet for the MusiCares concert. Katie asked the singer how she was feeling about country music these days and noted that many country fans still adore her. It seems Natalie doesn’t really see it that way. She replied to Katie saying,
“You still love me.” Then continued with, “ Lots of people don’t love me. You know what? It’s kind of liking going back to your abusive husband. I’m just not feeling it. I’m sorry.”
Natalie was part of the performance the evening of February 8th. Her, Ben Harper, and Charlie Musselwhite sang Bruce Springsteen’s song “Atlantic City.” The singer also will release her first solo album, “Mother,” on May 7th.
So what do you think about Natalie’s remarks? Leave a comment below and let us know.
