According to the Lehigh Valley Music Blog country icon Vince Gill thinks pretty highly of Taylor Swift. Vince, who has been nominated for more than 40 Grammy awards and has won 20, lost in 2012 for “Best Country Song” to Taylor Swift. He was nominated for “Threaten Me With Heaven,” but ultimately Taylor took home the trophy for her hit song “Mean.”
What did Vince think of losing to Ms. Swift? He didn’t seem to mind at all saying,
“I got nominated last year for Song of the Year, and got beat by Taylor. That was great – I like that kid.”
He continued to talk about Taylor’s career by singing her praises,
“She’s hitting the big home run – it’s so neat to see. She has a great way of connecting with people, and I love seeing that. I love her to death. She gets beat up a lot, unfairly so. I’m actually a great supporter of hers.”
I am sure Taylor would be honored to know that Vince has her back. Always nice to hear country artists appreciating what other artists are doing in their career.
