Mountain Home Music recording artist and 6 member bluegrass band, The Grascals, deliver that high lonesome sound on their latest album, “Life Finds A Way.” The group has cemented themselves as a driving force in bluegrass music with several awards and nominations throughout the years including their most recent Grammy nomination. With several other albums under their belt, “Life Finds A Way” seems to bring just what we have come to expect from the Grascals…amazing musicianship by an extremely talented group of musicians.
The album contains 13 tracks featuring both new material and a few covers. The title track kicks off the album and proves to be a standout song. With banjo and high harmonies galore, “Hello Mr. Lonesome” will please everyone who prefers their grass a little blue. To me it is the quintessential bluegrass song. “Lay That Hammer Down” is another fast paced, boot tapping good time. “Eleven Eleven” is a purely instrumental track which showcases The Grascals incredible precision and skill at its finest. “Road To Surrender” is a more stripped down song, focusing more on heartfelt vocals and poignant lyrics.
The Grascals are extremely talented, but I feel they tend to shine more on their upbeat tracks verses their slower songs. However, with that said, overall the album is solid and will delight those who consider themselves a fan of bluegrass and probably some country fans as well. “Life Finds A Way” is available now on iTunes so go check it out!
