Country music cutie Taylor Swift says she wants to stay away from the glitzy celebrity lifestyle and admits she is not a party girl.
Taylor told contactmusic.com “I’m not a party girl. I love performing on stage, that’s where I can really come alive and get a bit wild, but in private I want to live more quietly.”
“I want to live a good life, make good choices, and be good to the people I love and stay close to my friends,” she added.
The 23-year-old, who is currently dating boyband One Direction member Harry Styles, doesn’t want to have her mistakes played out on camera. She is too conscious of her pristine and clean-cut image to let herself go in public.
“Sometimes people tell me that I am young and I should be going out more, having fun, making mistakes and being more selfish. The trouble is, if I mess up there will be six months of headlines afterwards,” she said.
She says spending time with her close-knit group of friends helps keep her grounded, as does busying herself with writing new music.
“I spent every day of the summer working in the studio and then spent evenings with my friends, so that was my way of getting back to a normal life. That keeps things in focus for me,” Swift said.
In past relationships Taylor has kept her boyfriends on the down low. Fans sometimes didn’t find out about an ex until after the breakup went public but these more recent relationships with Connor Kennedy and Harry has really been front and center with many different DPA sessions caught on camera.
We can only take notes on what we see in public and hope to piece the puzzle together on the next album to find out which songs are about which boys. One can only hope these boys keep giving Taylor the inspiration she needs to keep pounding out catchy hits that keep us singing along.

PUH—LEASE—-she makes sure she has a new “boy” or is in the headlines every time she has a new album or a song to release. She may have fooled me and my friends in the beginning but–she is NOT fooling us any more. I don’t think we know of any other star that is as fame hungry as Taylor. She said she wants to live a quiet life and keep her relationships on the down low but she, herself, is dissing them in songs and goes on talk shows, etc. and talks about the codes in her songs, etc.. We think she needs professional help. She needs to discover who she is because it is quite obvious that she has problems in her personal life. We think she has made her way through 13 boys/men in the last 3 or so years. WOW—that is an accomplishment and NOTHING to brag about. We are younger than her but we are much more mature and are making solid plans for our future. We are so tired of her juvenile songs—and others are saying they are also. She is 23. How much longer is she going to pretend to be 15 or 16? We think her shy innocent act is just—an act..
