It is that time of year again when all genres of music converge in Los Angeles, CA for the Annual American Music Awards. One exciting aspect of these sorts of events is always the fashion. While the stars are excited about nominations and performing they also know they best give their look a little thought. Eyes are wide open and ready to see what stars will shine and who falls a bit flat. Looking back over the years some of our favorite country stars have seen some hits and misses at the AMA’s. Take a trip down memory lane with us as we reminisce and determine if the looks were ones to remember or just better to forget!

Let’s start with the always Beautiful Carrie Underwood. Seriously, can the girl BE any more beautiful? In 2009 she showed up to the AMA’s in this cute little one shoulder gold dress. I think this suited her perfectly. It stood out, yet was simple all at the same time. She was also sporting a cute side swept half up, half down hair do. The whole look just worked for her! However, on the same night, she made a rather questionable choice with her performance outfit. SHE still looked gorgeous, but the black and tan shorts number didn’t really win me over. A LOOK TO FORGET

Another country fashion icon is Miss Taylor Swift. Let’s face it; the girl knows what clothes look best on her. In 2011 she shinned on the red carpet in a stunning gold floor length gown. The look was completely sophisticated and elegant with a sweet and simple side ponytail to boot. Thumbs up Taylor! A LOOK TO REMEMBER

Going back in time a bit, check out Shania Twain’s look from 2003. Her voice is awesome, and she is a great entertainer, no doubt. However I had a bit of trouble wrapping my mind around this one. It looks like a gold bikini top, and a leotard with chandelier pieces as an accent. She is so beautiful, I am sure she could have found something a bit more flattering, but I will hand it to her…you have to have a good body to pull it off! A LOOK TO FORGET

Groups are always interesting because you know they have to talk to one another to make sure their outfits somewhat blend. In the case of the brother/sister trio The Band Perry in 2010 they did just that. Just one problem…they did not pick the most flattering outfits. I love The Band Perry and think that Kimberly Perry is a natural beauty, but her dress is just too much gold, not to mention pairing it with those black boots. Neil and Reid also could have picked something a little classier. The printed pants have got to go! A LOOK TO FORGET

Check out our favorite country redhead Reba McEntire walking the AMA red carpet in 2009. While it is not super fancy, it is classic looking and she totally rocks those knee high black boots. Reba always looks good, plain and simple. A LOOK TO REMEMBER

Then there is country icon Garth Brooks holding up a couple of “wins” back in 1999. I love this look. Can’t go wrong with all the black, it is classic and sharp. I also love the black cowboy hat. He was very true to himself with this look. A LOOK TO REMEMBER

Here we have Brad Paisley sporting a lot of black denim at the 2008 awards. While the t-shirt and denim is quite casual, I really don’t mind. The matching denim aspect is not my favorite, but really he kind of pulled it off. However he lost me with the white hat…it really stands out and just kind of ruined the outfit in my opinion. I have seen Brad look great and make some much better fashion choices! A LOOK TO FORGET

Tim and Faith. Need I say more? This 2006 look finds Tim looking great in his leather jacket and black cowboy hat with his famous plunging neckline. While this might not be the most gorgeous dress I have ever seen on Faith, once they stand together they just look good. Maybe it is the love I am seeing…but whatever it is I like it. A LOOK TO REMEMBER

WHOA! 2007 was the year for showing skin for Kellie Pickler! She looks very “Hollywood” in this picture. The hair is fantastic and she looks confident in a dress that not many could feel confident in, so she gets props for that! However I can’t decide if it is a bit too much? SO, let’s hear from YOU!!

Kelly Pickler’s dress I would vote A LOOK TO FORGET. The dress is too see through on the top, especially since it’s so low cut, but the weird thing is the way the straps wrap around her arms. May have looked better had there been a strap going around the back, and then the instead of wrapping around the shoulders, the top straps go up and around the neck and down the back.
