Taylor Swift Talks “Red”, Risks, and Past Albums

Taylor Swift Red

Taylor Swift recently talked to CBS Local and revealed how all of her albums represent different times in her life. She also discussed how her new project, “Red” represents taking risks unlike she has taken in the past.  With “Red” she explained,

“I wanted to learn. I wanted to take my comfort zone–which at that point was writing songs alone–and I wanted to throw myself into a different realm.”

Taylor talked about how she went about approaching this saying,

“I called up all these people I was a fan of–producers, writers, artists–and I said, ‘I want you to be in on making this record with me, I want your influence. It was me expanding and learning, and taking risks I’ve never taken before.”

Taylor also reminisced about her other albums and how they represented where she was as an artist. With “Fearless” she described it as,

“Breakthrough and discovery, as in WOW, there is a big wide world of music out there, and I am excited and scared…”

“Speak Now” was totally different, Taylor talked about it saying,

“I felt like I really had something to prove, because that last album was so big. I wanted to write the record by myself, to prove to myself that I could do it.”

Taylor Swift’s new album “Red” hit stores and digital sale outlets October 22nd and is on it’s way to selling more than 1 million in it’s first week!
