We previously reported that Josh Thompson had parted ways with RCA this past summer. However, we are happy to report that he’s found a new home with Show Dog Universal. According to Country Weekly, Josh had shopped several labels throughout Nashville before agreeing on Show Dog-Universal which reunited him with many former members of his Sony team.
I’m a new artist. I’ve been out for three years, I’ve had one record, four Top 30 singles, but I’m still a new artist,” says Josh. “There’s a spot for me at Show Dog where I’ll get a lot of attention.”
I’m back in love with music again. I’m writing some of the best stuff of my life and I’m wanting to write, and I’m writing all the time.”
So now that Josh has found a home with Toby Keith, new music is definitely on the horizon.
My mind is always on a couple of things. One is the fans and intriguing them with another record that is as good or, hopefully, beats the pants off the first one. The other is radio. I’ve still got a lot to prove.” When his sense of humor gets the best of him, he adds, “So, that’s what you can expect, just a well-rounded piece of awesomeness with my stamp of approval on it.”
