This past weekend, Twin Lakes, Wis., became the premiere destination for country music fans, as Country Thunder music festival took place with a stellar line-up including Toby Keith, Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton, Hunter Hayes, Big & Rich, Luke Bryan, Easton Corbin, Brantley Gilbert, along with 15 additional acts. Now with the dust settling from the capacity crowd of 33,268 people onsite, plans for 2013 are already underway.
In addition to the award-winning music selection, Country Thunder offered a full-fan experience with activities ranging from helicopter rides to mechanical bull riding and the human slingshot to an array of food and specialty item vendors. Three stages kept music flowing from noon to 2 am daily, including the Great American Country Thunder stage where local bands and bluegrass favorites The Roys jammed out daily and the after-hours Electric Thunder stage where Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Big Kenny of Big & Rich, Two Foot Fred and GAC’s Storme Warren either spun records, body surfed or just had an overall good time.
