Joe Nichols‘ newest release, It’s All Good, hit’s stores and digital retailers tomorrow. Featuring his hit single, “Take It Off,” the album is sure to be a hit for Joe.
Kicking-off with the good-time sing-a-long tune like “Take It Off,” and following-up with the fun-loving”The More I Like” people may assume the album is all good…And it is. Once “Somebody’s Name” started playing though, I was immediately transported back to my youth (that’s the late 80′s/early 90′s). It sounds exactly like something from that time, filled with a strong southern drawl and good ole classic twang of the steel guitar. In fact, much of the album has that nostalgic feeling. Sorta a throwback to what the older generations would call the “good ole days.”
My favorite songs on the album are “She’s Just Like That” and “How I Wanna Go.” Obviously one is about a girl, and the latter about the end of life. But both had me picturing Joe on a stool, singing his heart out with nothing but an acoustic guitar. The first, “She’s Just Like That” is an ode the imperfect woman…but the imperfections make her perfect for him. Obviously, I like that one. “How I Wanna Go” is a simple song looking at how a a person would wanna leave the world…What he would leave behind, and what kinda life should be lived up to that point…And, a perfect way to end a record that really is “All Good.”
It’s All Good hits stores tomorrow. As always, Joe is consistently good.
